The MABEF M-33 is perfect for the watercolor, pastel, oil or the multi-media artist. This Studio Easel extends upward to handle a 54" canvas and folds down to a compact 34" height. This super stable easel, is capable of a forward tilt for glare reduction and a backward tilt to form a table for watercolors or the application of gesso or varnish. Handsomely crafted of solid, oiled beech wood, this easel also comes with a fully adjustable painting tray and retractable mast.

I bought one of these years ago when I was at the Kansas City Art Institute. The easel tilts and can be leveled for glazing with thin oils. I still use this easel for my small scale paintings (36" x 42"). The easel wedges the canvas like a wood vise especially if you use gallery stretcher bars or greater.
I am currently using the easel tilted as a makeshift taboret to hold a glass slab a few pints of acrylic, a gallon of gel medium and lots of tools (I shifted to painting on the wall & floor because my scale is too large for an easel anymore.)
