My collegues at work gave me a gift of money to buy myself an easel to use in my retirement, after 38 years as an art teacher. I read many reviews and studied photos of many online easels.I chose the Mabef 07 and I am thrilled with my purchase! It is made of beautiful oiled wood and is very sturdy. It has many ways to adjust for different sized paintings and I love the way it is able to slant back.I am so happy with my purchase!

  4. Excellent easel for the serious artist 5 Star Review

I'm also a woodworker and I was very impressed with the quality of the wood and the precision of the fits. I have an eight foot ceiling so I cut off about a foot of the vertical support and that works out well. Just be sure you take your time assembling and follow the pictures closely and you'll have a great easel.

  5. Great buy/great easel 5 Star Review

I held my breath unpacking my easel. I did a lot of research before making a Mabef my choice and many reviewers of many companies complained about an easel showing up with zero packing, cracked or broken pieces, assembling directions that couldn't be followed, on and on. True, there is little packaging other than the box it comes in, but my easel is in perfect shape. The directions are moderately clear, so set out the pieces and hardware and study the pictures carefully so you line everything up correctly. It took me about an hour from unpacking to the finished easel. The wood is beechwood, I believe. It has been oiled and all the sliding parts move easily. It is quite tall and if you have low ceilings the M07 may not be your best choice. It is solid and doesn't rock. Absolutely worth the investment.

  6. Very well made :) 4 Star Review

Great sturdy quality! The instructions for putting together are not great- but it isn't rocket science and if you take the thirty seconds needed to sort the parts first then its a piece of cake to assemble.. I bought this easel for my wife as a gift. Mabef came highly recomended via reviews so I just decided to chance it.. We are very happy :) I do a lot of construction work and I can tell you that to buy the wood of this quality would cost a fortune. Great buy and I will trust Mabef with any future products offered- as well as send others their way.

    assembly instruction could be better

  8. sturdy, reliable, beautiful, worth it 4 Star Review

this H-frame easel is so great.. heavy and sturdy enough to not budge when you're painting away, but light enough to move around when necessary without breaking a sweat. can fold down flat and hold lots of canvas sizes. the tray is height adjustable, but you have to be careful if you're in a room with low ceilings if you raise it too high. assembly was a little daunting at first glance, but i took my time and i did it easily by myself. btw i LOVED that i didn't need to break out any of my own tools to do the job, and the finished result is very impressive. beechwood is a must if you're afraid of temperature changes or storing it for period of time, because it is difficult to warp. i'd highly recommend this easel to any painter who is sick of cheap, flimsy easels that wobble with every brushstroke, or collapse if you accidentally bump it with your foot. (can you tell i have experience with this? haha.)

  9. Really worth the money 4 Star Review

I am very pleased with the quality of this easel. It is rock solid and easily adjusted. I would give it 5 stars, but I had to assemble it. The assembly is not difficult except at the last part where you connect the tray to the adjustable back. That diagram is confusing as is the location for the two tightening screws. This easel is tall, so check your ceiling height.

I was amazed at how quickly I received the product after ordering on-line.
